Site

The Site screen controls what the site says about itself. These values are live as soon as you save them and become the default for every page.

• Name is used when a page has no title of its own and identifies the site in a shared link.
• Description can appear under the title in search results and link cards.
• Author and X handle credit the site or a shared card.
• Theme colour tells supported mobile browsers which colour to use around the page.
• Sharing picture is the default image for links pasted into messages and social posts. It is cropped to a 1200 by 630 card.

A page can supply its own title, description, or sharing image when it needs to differ. If it does not, the site-wide value is used.

Select Keep this site out of search engines while a site should not be listed. This applies to every page, even if an individual page has different metadata. Clear it when the site is ready to be found.

Sites with several languages can give each language its own description and keywords. The author, social handle, and theme colour stay shared.
