If your site sends its visits to Google Analytics, the Analytics screen brings
them back onto the dashboard: how many people came, which pages they read,
where they came from, which countries they were in and what they used. The
Overview shows the last 14 days of visits too, with how many came from
Instagram.

Analytics comes with some [plans](/dashboard/billing/), so the **Analytics**
entry is in the sidebar only for sites whose plan includes it.

## Connect it

1. Put your Measurement ID (it starts with `G-`) on
[Integrations](/dashboard/integrations/), if it is not there already. That
is what sends your visits to Google Analytics in the first place.
2. On Analytics, press **Connect Google Analytics** and sign in with a Google
account that can see the Analytics property those visits go to.
3. Leave the Analytics box ticked on Google's screen and continue.

Vizitka finds the property by your Measurement ID, so there is nothing to pick.
If none of the properties that Google account can see has that ID, the screen
says so; sign in with the account that owns the property instead.

The access is read-only. Vizitka cannot change anything in your Google
Analytics.

## Reading the numbers

Pick a period at the top: 7, 14, 28 or 90 days. Every number is compared with
the same number of days just before, so **+20%** on 28 days means 20% more than
the 28 days before that.

- **Visitors** are people, **visits** are the times they came, and **page
views** are the pages they opened.
- **From Instagram** adds up every visit whose source names Instagram, since
Google Analytics spells it several ways depending on where the link was.
- **Where visits come from** is Google Analytics' source: `Direct` is a visit
with no link behind it, such as a typed address or a bookmark.

Numbers can be up to an hour old, and Google Analytics itself can take a day
to show a new visit. A site that has just been connected, or that nobody has
found yet, says so rather than drawing an empty chart.

## Disconnect it

The unplug button at the foot of the screen disconnects Google Analytics. Your
tag stays on the site, so Google Analytics keeps counting; the numbers just
stop showing here. You can also remove Vizitka's access in your Google Account.

Changing the Measurement ID on Integrations, or disconnecting Google Analytics
there, disconnects it here too, because the property it read belonged to the
old ID.

If Google stops letting Vizitka read the property, for example because the
access was removed in your Google Account, the screen says so and offers to
connect again.
